This series of workshops were organised as part of the project "Building Capacities for Conservation Planning". Each workshop was run in collaboration with a partner institute working in the Western Ghats. Most of the partner institutes contributed towards the costs of the venue and provided logistic support towards the workshops. Many of them were or have become part of the India Biodiversity Portal and continue to collaborate on other research projects and initiatives.
