About

A one-day introductory workshop for PhD students of the of Ecology and Environmental Sciences, Pondicherry University.

Description

The R package for statistical computing is quickly becoming a de-facto standard in research agencies throughout the world. This open source software comprises of thousands of contributed modules which makes it ideal for a wide range statistical analysis and graphics. Much of this flexibility is due to the design of the software as an object oriented and functional programming language.

This workshop will attempt to introduce programming in R to accomplish a range of analytical tasks. The workshop will be based on hands-on problem solving using a series of examples and canned datasets.

Those who wish to participate in the workshop need to bring their own lap tops with a new (not older than 6 months) working installation of R and R-Studio. This workshop will only be open to full time students of the Pondicherry University.
