The Rufford Foundation has played a crucial role in the field of nature conservation in developing countries worldwide. Their small grants have offered immense opportunities to young professionals and amateurs to explore and contribute to the field of wildlife research and nature conservation in India. By bringing the Rufford Grantees together for a conference, we envisaged a platform to provide them an opportunity to meet, network, exchange ideas and learn about the most recent developments in the field of wildlife research and conservation. Between 2013 and 2022, we successfully organized seven regional Rufford conferences across India, engaging over 260 participants who came together to share their research, conservation experiences, and enhance their skills.
- Explore different aspects of conservation and action research and building conservation capacity at local, regional, and global levels.
- Provide an opportunity for grant recipients to meet and interact.
- Seven Rufford conferences were held between 2013 and 2022 in different parts of India.
- More than 260 researchers, conservation practitioners, and students attended these conferences.
